In 1881, William Wirt Winchester dies of tuberculosis, four months after his father, the founding of the Winchester Repeating Arms Company. Two years later, his wife Sarah began building what came to be known as the Winchester Mystery House famous for its never ending construction until Sarah’s death in 1922. Claiming she was hounded by the spirits of those killed by Winchester arms, Sarah never stop construction on the advice of a medium.
